\What makes Unity Park unique is the City's commitment to inclusivity and equitable development. The project also includes the creation of affordable housing on almost nine acres of land in the Southernside neighborhood. The City donated the land, valued at an estimated $8 million, to the Greenville Housing Fund.
With guidance from the Southernside residents, the Greenville Housing Fund and the City have mapped out a plan for the surrounding streets - one that envisions a vibrant, sustainable and complementary mixed-income neighborhood that is reflective of the entire community.
Parcels Identified for Affordable Housing Development
City Council has placed a priority on the development of affordable housing, donating land (in yellow) around the park to the Greenville Housing Fund for affordable and workforce housing.
