Steps to affordable homeownership
1. Review the homeownership program guidelines and make sure you meet the First Time Homebuyers Program Requirements, including the 2020 Income Limits.
2. Download the First Time Homebuyers Program Application.
3. Complete the application and return it with any supporting documentation to: Community Development Division, P.O. Box 2207, Greenville, SC 29602.
4. The Community Development Division will provide you with an Income Certification Letter if your application is approved.
5. If you receive an Income Certification Letter, contact the Greenville County Human Relations Commission or the Urban League of the Upstate to register for a Homebuyer Education class (you will be required to provide a copy of your class certificate to the City upon completion).
6. Contact the builder to discuss pricing, lots and floorplans available.
7. Purchase your home.
