Ice Rink Shift Supervisor

POSITION EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Exhibits leadership skills and provides supervisory direction and oversight for executing shift responsibilities to part-time staff.
Sets up finance materials, including P.O.S. and preparation of ticket sale operations prior to opening
Reconciles cash with ticket sales during shift change and at the end of each evening.
Breaks down finance materials and returns supplies to City Hall.
Assists with ice rink opening and closing procedures, including and not limited to scraping and resurfacing ice (no prior experience needed), moving rink-side equipment into place and preparing skates for use.
Maintains cleanliness and order of the ice rink area.
Oversees the Ticket Sales Attendant and the Ice Rink Attendant.
Provides high-quality customer service and effectively communicates with guests.
Ability to recognize problems as they arise and remediates these problems to the best of ability.
Provides written and/or verbal reports on all incidents and facility concerns, no matter how minor, to Special Events staff.
Ability to adhere to City policies, follow safety guidelines and exercise good judgment in all aspects of responsibility.
Willingness to perform other duties as needed.

Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
Requires climbing, reaching bending, pulling, and lifting. Some work is done on a slippery surface and varying environments, including cold temperatures.

Must be 18 years or older
Available nights, weekends and some holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Years Day. *select holidays are paid time and a half
High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
Intermediate cash/credit card handling skills and computer skills.
Experience with point-of-sale system helpful.
Experience with supervising/directing staff highly preferred.
Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Ability to sit in a cold environment
