Juror Disqualification Criteria
An individual fitting any 1 of the following categories is disqualified from serving as a Municipal Court juror:
- You are not a U.S. citizen
- You are not a resident of the City of Greenville
- You cannot read, write, speak, or understand English
- You have less than a 6th grade education
- You have a mental/physical condition that prevents you from serving
- You are a convicted felon
- You work in a court capacity
- You have served on a Greenville Municipal Court jury within the same calendar year
Juror Exempt Criteria
An individual fitting any 1 of the following categories is exempt from serving as a Municipal Court juror:
- You are 65 years or older and wish to be excused
- You are the primary caregiver of a disabled person or person 65 years or older who cannot care for themselves
- You have legal custody and duty of care of a child under the age of 7
- You served on a Greenville Municipal Court jury during the previous year
An affidavit (notarized statement) must be submitted attesting to the above statements.
Juror Transfer Criteria
An individual will be transferred to a future jury trial session if she/he is a student or school employee.
