Downtown Merchant Association - April Meeting Mark your calendars to join us for the next Downtown Merchant Association meeting set for Tuesday, April 19 at 9 AM at M. Judson Booksellers. We will be discussing the opening of Unity Park, along with a schedule of opening events. We encourage you to invite a neighboring business located in the Central Business District to attend with you.

Road Closure on N Main Street - Tuesday, April 12 Road closure on N Main Street from W North Street to the crosswalk at 119 N Main Street, near the Mast General Store. South bound traffic on N Main Street will be detoured to E North Street while northbound traffic on N Main Street will be maintained. The purpose of the closure is to allow crews to utilize a crane for placement of an HVAC unit on the roof at 119 N Main Street. Detour routes for vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be posted and access to businesses within the closure will be maintained.

Development Code Information Session - Wednesday, April 13 The City is in the process of writing a new development code that will align with GVL2040 (the comprehensive plan) and address issues related to development across our community. Throughout the process, the City will host monthly online "Code Connections" sessions, in which the project team will provide updates and answer questions about the project from community members.

Lila Mae Brock Plaza Dedication - Tuesday, April 19The Lila Mae Brock Plaza dedication will take place on Tuesday, April 19, at 11:00 a.m. The plaza dedication will include a statue of Ms. Brock, created by Greenville artist Charlie Pate, honoring the beloved Southernside leader who dedicated her life to helping the underserved in our community.

Economic Development Strategic Plan: Public SurveyThe City is working with the consulting firm Resonance to create a long-term Economic Development Strategic Plan to identify key partnership opportunities and foster balanced growth. As the project team works to collect data and conduct an economic assessment, residents and business owners are asked to share their input via a public survey.
