Redistricting Meeting Scheduled for Monday, October 17 The City of Greenville will host a public meeting on Monday, October 17, at Bobby Pearse Community Center at 6:00 p.m. to provide information and gather feedback as the City begins the redistricting process. The 2020 United States Census showed a shift in population density within the city limits, meaning districts are no longer balanced. The law requires population equity among the districts, so the City’s redistricting goal is to have four council districts that are as close to the same number of people as possible. Public meetings have been held in each Council district. However, residents are able to attend any of the meetings as the information shared will be the same. All meetings will be held will be from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

State Match Doubles the City's Paving PlanThanks to a matching grant from the Greenville Legislative Delegation Transportation Committee (GLDTC), Greenville now has double the money to pave city roadways. A total of 92 city streets - more than 26 miles of road - will now be targeted for repaving and repair. City engineering director, Clint Link, received word last week that a 50-50 state match will grow the available funds from $6 to $12 million. The City will use the money to accelerate the seven-year project, with a new plan to complete a total of $12 million of work, all in 2023.

2022 More to Enjoy Sign ApplicationThe City of Greenville is continuing its More to Enjoy wayfinding program, which features newly-designed business directory signs at key Main Street intersections. The purpose of the program is to encourage downtown visitors to discover shops and restaurants located on side streets in the Central Business District by listing business names and providing directional arrows. The signs are designed to be eye-catching while still incorporating seamlessly into the City’s overall downtown branding campaign.
Submit an application or apply for renewal by filling out the 2022 More to Enjoy application. Space on the signs are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. For questions or more information, please email Cameron Campbell at cjcampbell@greenvillesc.gov.
