Downtown Merchant Association: Last Meeting of 2022 - Tuesday, November 15Mark your calendars to join us next Tuesday, November 15 at 9:00 a.m. for our final Downtown Merchant Association meeting of 2022. Mayor Knox White will join us to discuss this year's accomplishments as well as the exciting upcoming prospects of 2023. To kickoff the holiday season, we will take a group picture beside Greenville's beautiful 30-ft Christmas tree located in front M. Judson Booksellers.

Free E-Waste Recycling and Shredding EventOn Saturday, November 12 from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. the City of Greenville will host a Shredding & E-Waste Recycling event at the Public Works campus, located at 475 Fairforest Way. At this free event, citizens can dispose of unwanted electronics and have their sensitive documents destroyed and recycled securely.

Road Closure: JDRF Upstate One Walk - Sunday, November 13Road closures will take place downtown from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13 during the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Upstate One Walk.

United Community Bank Ice on Main Opening Postponed until Monday, November 14 Due to the unseasonable weather and forecasted rain United Community Bank Ice on Main postponed the opening until Monday, November 14. The opening ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. featuring special performances. The rink will open to the public for skating at 2:00 p.m.
Online ticket sales are open online, as well as rent the rink options.

2022 Window Wonderland - Applications Available NowJoin us as we transform downtown into a festive wonderland this holiday season! Applications are now available for the 5th annual Central Business District window decorating contest called Window Wonderland.
In collaboration with VisitGreenvilleSC, the City is excited to offer contest prizes for the winner in the following categories: Judges' Award and People's Choice Award. Businesses within the CBD must apply and decorate their window by Friday, December 1.

Shop Downtown OpportunitiesThe City of Greenville has two exciting opportunities for downtown merchants through the holiday season. The first is a Shop Downtown digital gift card that allows shoppers to use at any downtown business that opts in. For more information about the gift card program please contact Olivia Vassey at ovassey@greenvillesc.gov.
The second is an Instagram giveaway that will be used to promote participating merchants throughout the holiday season. All donated items for the giveaway must be provided by Monday, November 14. For additional information on how to participate please contact Cameron Campbell at cjcampbell@greenvillesc.gov.

Main Street SoundThe City is launching a pilot program called Main Street Sound through Sunday, November 13. Main Street Sound will reserve designated locations along Main Street for street performers to perform on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. through 10:00 p.m. Performers are only allowed to perform 1-hour at a designated location, and new performances will begin at the top of each hour. The designated locations are One City Plaza, Graham Plaza and Tate Plaza (entrance of Falls Park).
Main Street Sound is an event created to highlight the talents of our local street performers while enhancing the overall shopping, dining, and downtown experience. This pilot program is only eligible to active street performer permit holders who are registered through the City's Street Performer Program.

2022 More to Enjoy Sign ApplicationThe City of Greenville is continuing its More to Enjoy wayfinding program, which features newly-designed business directory signs at key Main Street intersections. The purpose of the program is to encourage downtown visitors to discover shops and restaurants located on side streets in the Central Business District by listing business names and providing directional arrows. The signs are designed to be eye-catching while still incorporating seamlessly into the City’s overall downtown branding campaign.
Submit an application or apply for renewal by filling out the 2022 More to Enjoy application. Space on the signs are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. For questions or more information, please email Cameron Campbell at cjcampbell@greenvillesc.gov.
