Downtown Dribble presented by VisitGreenvilleSC - Saturday, March 4Downtown Dribble presented by VisitGreenvilleSC is a free event for children 5 - 14 years old held at NOMA Square in downtown Greenville on Saturday, March 4. Participants will dribble a short route from NOMA Square to Bon Secours Wellness Arena in celebration for the 2023 SEC Women's Basketball Tournament. Downtown Dribble participants will receive a free basketball, event t-shirt and 1 free ticket to the 4:30 p.m. Saturday semifinal game. Participation space is limited for the Downtown Dribble event - reserve your spots online. Onsite check-in begins at NOMA Square at 12:30 p.m. City of Greenville - Recreation staff will be onsite from 12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. to offer fun basketball skills and drills prior to the Downtown Dribble event, which begins at 2:00 p.m. Road Closure Details

Greenville Welcomes SEC Women's Basketball at Bon Secours Wellness ArenaThis week downtown streets have been filled with fans and the joy of basketball, as Greenville hosts the Southeastern Conference (SEC) women's basketball tournament at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Games started Wednesday and will continue through Sunday. Purchase tickets to enjoy the semi-final games on Saturday beginning at 4:30 p.m. or the championship game at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Reedy River Rivalry at Fluor Field - March 4The South Carolina Gamecocks and Clemson Tigers renew the their college baseball rivalry as they match up in the Reedy River Rivalry presented by ScanSource on Saturday, March 4, at Fluor Field. First pitch is at 1:00 p.m. In addition to the game, the Greenville Drive will host the Reedy River Rivalry Fan Fest on District 356 beginning at 10 a.m. with food trucks, live music, TVs, inflatables and more.

Road Closure: S Academy Street on Monday, March 6On Monday, March 6, the section of Academy Street between Wardlaw Street and North Markley Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., to allow Norfolk-Southern to perform maintenance and replacement of their rail crossing. Detour signs will be in place to guide traffic around the closure and motorists are urged to allow extra time and reduce speeds when traveling in this area.

Greenville Police Department - Citizens Academy Spring Session The Citizens Academy is a free, eight-week community outreach program designed to provide citizens who live and work in the city a unique opportunity to learn more about the Greenville Police Department (GPD). The academy features a classroom setting with presentations by GPD personnel from multiple divisions and a variety of learning experiences. Classes begin on March 14 and are held on Tuesdays from 5:30 - 8:40 p.m. Apply before Friday, March 10, at 4:00 p.m. for the opportunity to participate in the Spring session.

Lane Closure on W Broad Street for Duct Bank Installation On Wednesday, March 1, Duke Energy began installing a duct bank along W Broad Street, between W Washington Street and W McBee Avenue. The majority of work will take place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. Some Saturday work will also be required, and periodic concrete pours will be done during the daytime between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times, and flaggers will be on-site to guide traffic through the work zone. Weather permitting, the entire project is expected to take three months to complete. The purpose of the project is to improve reliability and increase capacity in the downtown area.
