Downtown road closures will take place from 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, April 22, during the United Community Bank Reedy River Run.

Downtown road closures will take place on Sunday, April 23 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. during the Upstate Heart Walk.

CommUNITY Resource Fair graphic

CommUNITY Resource Fair at Unity Park - Thursday, April 27 

The City's first annual CommUNITY Resource Fair will take place on Thursday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the Prisma Health Welcome Center in Unity Park.  The event was organized to allow quick access to local workforce, education and social services. Over forty vendors, representing various areas of service, such as City of Greenville, Mill Village Industries, Greenville Housing Authority, Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill Industries will be present to connect with the community. The event is free and open to the public.  Attendees are encouraged to RSVP at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/community-resource-fair-tickets-523082121707

City Manager Presents Balanced Budget with No Tax Increase 

During the City Council workshop held on Monday, April 17, City Manager John McDonough presented a balanced budget with no tax increase and a strong focus on the council priorities of public safety, affordable housing and neighborhoods, recreation & open space, economic development, and mobility. The proposed budget includes significant investments in capital improvements totaling $56 million. 

The public hearing on the budget is scheduled for May 22, followed by a first reading of the ordinance. A vote on the adoption of the annual operating budget will be June 12.

Downtown Merchant Association - April Meeting Recap 

Thank you to everyone who was able to join the Downtown Merchant Association meeting on Tuesday, April 18 hosted by The Children's Museum of the Upstate (TCMU). A big thank you to Lauren Luneckas, CEO of The Children's Museum of the Upstate, and the TCMU team for the amazing work they are doing within our community, especially for our young learners. There are over 275 children's museums in the United States, and TCMU is the 7th largest in the country. Over 250,000 visitors enjoy TCMU each year. Additionally, TCMU was the first children's museum to be recognized as a Smithsonian affiliate, which provides access to numerous education resources and activities.
