Fall facade freshen Up Initiative
Cooler temperatures,
colorful foliage and a new fun downtown initiative called "Fall Façade
Freshen Up" kicks off the autumn season. Since today - Saturday, September
23 - is the first day of fall, we are encouraging businesses to participate by
freshening up their façade and doing some routine cleaning. As you know, the
fall and holiday seasons are packed with fun downtown events, which allows our
beautiful city and your amazing businesses to be on full display. Fall for
Greenville, alone, will bring representatives from national media outlets who
are known to either publicly or discreetly explore and enjoy our downtown
business community while in town.
You will notice the
City is celebrating the change in season by leading the Fall Façade Freshen
Up initiative by updating City Hall's entrance while also deep cleaning
public spaces, such as pressure washing sidewalks along Main Street and
preparing for fall planting.
We sincerely appreciate your participation as we collectively work to illuminate downtown in Q4 of 2023. For convenience,
below is a quick Fall Façade Freshen Up checklist:
- Clean windows
- Dust the cobwebs on
façade signs and window sills
- Remove old,
outdated posters on windows
- Replant store
window boxes and planters
- Pressure wash
awnings
- Paint doors and
window sills/trim, if needed
- Update and/or clean
café encroachment furniture. Please consult with City staff before purchasing new encroachment furniture to ensure
it meet City standards and requirements
If you see public spaces that need attention in your area, please do not hesitate to reach out to me, Downtown Project Manager - Cameron Campbell at cjcampbell@greenvillesc.gov. Happy Fall!
