Open House Meetings Set for September 16 & 17

The City of Greenville and the Greenville Housing Fund are hosting two public meetings to give property owners and residents a chance to review the latest draft of the Neighborhood District Code (previously called the Community Character Code), which serves as the new zoning requirements for the Unity Park planning area.

The drop-in style meetings will be held on Monday, September 16 and Tuesday, September 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Greenville Water (517 W. Washington Street). The same information will be shared at both meetings and there will not be a formal presentation. As a result, the public is invited to attend the open house that is most convenient for them and to stop by any time between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Open house attendees will also have an opportunity to provide input on a strategy for affordable housing near Unity Park. More than eight acres of City-owned property near Unity Park have been reserved for affordable housing and at the open house, representatives from the Greenville Housing Fund will seek attendees’ guidance on a number of key issues, including the type, style and cost of the housing.

The draft Neighborhood District Code is available on the City’s website at www.greenvillesc.gov/UnityParkPlan
